Rails
The Flat Bar. (Or 'Rail') A very popular object that gets skated all day long. A Flat Bar is a length of either round or square steel tubing set above the ground or ramp. It is essentially like a skinny ledge, but made of all steel; grinds and slides exceptionally well, at whatever length you might require. An 8 to 12 foot length is the most common incarnation, and variations are below.
Kinked Rail. This is like the Flat Bar; it differs in that this version is set up for the funbox or loading dock. The flat bar has an adjoining 'down rail' that simulates a mellow handrail.
A Kinked Rail makes it approachable from either direction
Double-Kinked Rail. It fits on a funbox, and the use is like that of the double-kinked ledge. This obstacle can be approached from either direction and is double-sided.
Double-Kinked Flatbar. This rail most often is situated on the ground, is long, and has an angled section in the middle. Grinding across and up or across and down is definitely a challenge. Grinding the whole rail is a feat that few can make, and keeps skaters occupied and focused.
